Hello! My name is Zach, I am a PhD, chemical engineer turned data scientist. I spend my days developing solutions to challenging problems using chemical process modeling and optimization, data analytics/data science, and programming. While this work can be difficult, it's intellectually stimulating and I learn something new every day!
In my spare time, I created coolsciencey.com as an outlet for testing new ideas while documenting them. It has a mix of topics, a handful of fun science and engineering posts (electronics, heat transfer, etc.), a look into my coding/web development journey, and even some on statistics and personal finance.
Building a website is actually its own challenge that combines web server hosting (Linux), Javascript, HTML, CSS, along with deployment (Dev-ops) challenges! This website is very much a work in progress, being migrated from my previous Wordpress hosting solution, but go ahead and take a look at some of the blog posts! Feel free to e-mail me at zach@coolsciencey.com with questions, comments, or suggestions with respect to this website.
I would like to acknowledge that the styling of this blog was made to mirror that of the W3 Schools Nature Portfolio template.
